Role-play and Fan Fiction Community Events and Creations Seat of Knowledge: I've been a max level tailor for a while now and it's difficult for me to make any real money off of Pandaria recipies and cloth. It seems like I just keep stashing a way a bunch of cloth for no real purpose.

Any time I make a ilvl recipe item like the Chest it just sits in the AH until it gets undercut the CRAP out of or it doesn't sell at all. Any of you Tailors got any cost effective info on dealing with Pandaria cloth to make some real gold? You'll occasionally have someone undercut you when they just learn the recipe and unload the crapton of silks they've been stockpiling, but the rep grind and the daily CD on the silks should limit competition.

Otherwise, sit around cities and advertise. Your big business there will be gear for fresh 90s, but you'll get paid better when people know that you're out there providing a service. It's definitely not the most lucrative profession. Spellthreads should still be selling decently, depending on how much competition you have on your server. If you're willing to grind the AC rep, the slot bags sell pretty fast for me. They're not really very profitable for the amount of cloth they require, but I guess I'd suggest: Personally I wouldn't make a item without a buyer lined up and risk not being able to sell it.

Made my first Trying to sell that for markup: Making the crafted dreadful glad armor set is pretty good too, each piece sells for gold depending on server.

Or you can DE them and use mats to make lvl 90 enchants. My server is pretty high pop, so crafting endgame gear for the auction house isn't very attractive for me. Too many other crafters who undercut. Comparing the price that spellthreads are selling at to , you can make more money saving those imperial silks up until you have enough to make the bag, which is selling for about 3.

I'm considering trying Greendot's suggestion about Embersilk. Sounds like a good idea. Netherweave bags can also sell, but the market tends to be pretty crowded, so the difference between selling the cloth vs a bag can be minimal at times.

Craft the crafted pvp cloaks, DE them into shards and essences, profit? Sell the crafted pvp gear, not a huge profit, but the profit margin is fine, particularly some cloaks, bracers and boots.

Several different levels of spellthreads have some decent profit, but it's low overall. Sell embersilk bags, jewelcrafting bags, netherweave bags, all of these are profitable and sell well compared to the high end silk bag. Netherweave you can farm at a decent rate. I've done OK on the gear, but you have to price it right and it's got some risk. The black mageweave vest, leggings and shoulders have a market for teenage boys playing female alts.

Yeah the embersilk is very good, especially since there's hardly anyone going to kill those mobs since MoP came out.

I usually fill up a 24 slot bag with embersilk in less than an hour. On occasion I'll just sell the embersilk cloth stacks if they are going for a good chunk of gold. Another fast way to make some profit again, depending on server prices is to do heroic Pit of Saron 5 times back to back. You'll get a ton of frostweave and tons of de'able greens and vendor trash. My tailor is a blood dk so I can usually pull the entire place and just aoe loot. Make sure not to kill the bosses til the last run!

Won't necessarily work on every server, depends on prices of cloth and enchanting mats but: Mageweave and runecloth are the most common I buy, I turn the mageweave into White Bandit Masks to produce nether essence and vision dust, and the runecloth into Runecloth Headbands for illusion dust etc. I really need bags Should I lvl this profession? I would like to support my exotic leather habits since I've dropped skinning.

I think tailoring would be really useful cause cloth can be farmed without a gathering profession. The bags are a rep grind akin to hitting yourself in the head repeatedly.

You have to earn Exalted with August Celestials, you have to have Revered with Golden lotus before August Celestials opens up, and the mats needed for the bag are earned from a daily cooldown. It's a significant investment of time.

Since you seem to have a strong PvP focus, blacksmithing is the best PvP profession. You can put PvP gems into the special bonus sockets, while no other profession perk can be turned towards PvP. Well I have a new monk lvl 90, I'm trying to decide on three new professions. Since I'll have to bg to gear up my monk: I haven't rep grind August Celestials yet, on my monk it would go along with the story line.

It's better in Deepholm, right of Stonehearth as you fly that way from the temple where there are many groups of troggs fighting. AoE them down and AoE loot.

I hate grind farming but I can do that for like 30 min before wandering off. Lots of cloth for my new Tailor last week when she was leveling. Once haunting spirits become a bit more available and we can craft the gear, tailoring and BS will pick back up. I've had decent luck with the gear, the trick is not to price it too high. For example, I've sold the cloth caster chest Legacy of the Emporer for That's far better than you'd do with the silk bag.

I've sold several of the items. Your mileage may vary. I agree with Cogruko. If you pvp, then skip tailoring.

Thanks alot for the responses! I personally like the idea of buying cloth off the AH for low and turning it into the PvP cloaks and DEing them.

Working well so far! Also that deepholm farming area is a GODSEND! I made like 20k in a few days. Stacks of nethersilk bolts could feed me and my alts for a month. Of course if someone was actually questing there, I'd go do something else for awhile. Have something to say? Log in to join the conversation.
