The briefing shall consist of a review of the proper dosage of the medication, the possible side effects and intended effects of the specific medications administered to the child being placed.
All training shall be offered through curricula approved by the supervising agency. Licensed out-of-home caregivers already providing care for children prescribed psychotherapeutic medicines at the time of promulgation of this rule shall be provided with the training or briefing within 90 days of promulgation, if the training or briefing has not already been provided and documented in the file.
Licensed out-of-home caregivers shall be offered in-service training opportunities by their supervising agency. Training opportunities shall be offered no less than quarterly and at times and places convenient to the licensed out-of-home caregiver.
For those licensed out-of-home caregivers unable to attend, other methods shall be developed for satisfying this requirement. In-service training materials shall be approved by the supervising agency prior to use. Documentation of completed training shall be maintained in the licensure file.
