Hi to all the rich and experience stock gurus out there, I have always been wanted to open an account to start experiencing on how is it like to invest in the blue chip stock. However, I do not have any knowledge and skills pertaining to this finance industry. So my questions are which blue chip stock to buy and how to open an account? When to buy in and when to sell? I just need a rough detailed ideas that's all. I do not have 10k to invest. Just a couple of k to start off with. They are stable yes but like the master said when the market crashes theres no escape.

Unless you're too busy to analyse or can't take much risk then okay.. But blue chips stocks are priced quite high and getting a lot on the SGX could very well be the majority of your funds. Firstly, if you're truly investing, whether the blue chips crashes due to the broader markets crashes DOES NOT MATTER TO YOU. Those temporary correction in prices shouldn't matter. Instead, take the opportunity to invest further in fundamentally strong and sound companies.

Those who say avoid blue chips because they'll suffer during a correction is rather myopic. In investing, short term gain or loss is pointless.
